Katerina D.

Katka came to Spain from the heart of Europe, the Czech Republic. In secondary school, she studied fashion design and worked in this field for two years. At the same time, she was immensely interested in languages, so she studied English and French at Masaryk University in Brno.

It was only her two daughters and the experience of raising them and their schooling that led her to explore how to better educate children. Alternative education methods were a natural path for Katka, and she wasn’t afraid of a two-year adventure in the form of homeschooling with one of her daughters. In 2015, she idealistically set out to improve education personally: she became a primary school teacher.

Montessori pedagogy fascinated her with its unique combination of freedom and sophistication, so after a year, she moved to a Montessori school and completed the Czech Montessori diploma course. However, she wanted to know more, so she embarked on AMI Elementary training for children aged 6-12. Katka completed it in 2022 and thus discovered the full genius of Maria Montessori.

She has many hobbies, from music and singing to handicrafts, hiking, and astronautics. She still enjoy learning new things and would like to pass on curiosity and a love of learning to children.
